Homecoming week is next week 10/21-10/26! Please check out the attached flyers for detailed information. Just a reminder that the parade will start at 4pm on Tuesday. The route will start on east Brookline, turn north on 159, circle around the Abraham Lincoln statue and then back down Brookline. After the parade please come support our girls' volleyball for the senior night game vs. Metro East Lutheran (theme is college night). Homecoming Court will be announced between JV and varsity games. On Thursday, there is a home girls volleyball game vs First Baptist Academy (theme is Halloween). On Friday coronation practice is at 8:15am. On Saturday, homecoming coronation starts at 7:00pm. and the dance is from 8:00pm-10:00pm

The BHHS FFA attended a Freshman leadership conference at Lincoln Land Community College this week. Students participated in activities designed to improve their communication and leadership skills. Everyone had a great time!

Congratulations to the Bunker Hill/Staunton Girls Tennis Team on winning the South Central Conference Tournament! Sam Anderson got 1st place in the singles bracket and Korryn Keehner/Faith Taylor got 1st in the doubles bracket.


AP Literature and Composition students participated in a cool project today! Students created a visual of internal and external conflicts faced by the characters in "The Crucible," a play the class has been studying. Students had fun collaborating and will be presenting their findings during the next class.

Bunker Hill High School was the host today for the 2024 Macoupin County Volleyball Tournament. Congratulations to the Carlinville Lady Cavaliers as the County Champions and the Staunton Lady Bulldogs as runner up. Grace Burris and Peter Jarden each received one of eight (8) FFA jacket scholarships given out by the Macoupin County Farm Bureau. To be eligible for the scholarship, students had to be currently enrolled in an agriculture class, must be in good academic standing and must have attended at least one (1) FFA meeting or activity so far this school year.

Mrs. Eschbach's AP Seminar class designed their own class shirts to represent the collaboration process that takes place in their classroom. Working as a team really does make learning better!




The first night of parent-teacher conferences at BHHS was a hit! Along with a steady number of parents who attended, BHHS showcased various clubs, held a senior information night, and the FFA hosted a meeting for FFA alumni. Also, thank you to the community for supporting the cheerleaders at the spaghetti supper! Congrats Coach Gray on winning the theater-themed auction basket that the drama club put together!











Come out and join is tonight at the BHHS Tennis Courts as we honor our Seniors! We play East Alton-Wood River at 4pm.


BHHS welcomed Dr. Joseph Welch today. Dr. Welch gave a presentation to students on starting the Blackburn Conservatory Choir for high school students. The vocal ensemble will be directed by Dr. Welch, and will perform at Blackburn College concerts. Rehearsals will be in Bothwell Conservatory of Music at Blackburn on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00pm. The first rehearsal is expected to be October 16th. After Dr. Welch's presentation, approximately 10 BHHS student were interested in joining the choir. Thank you to Dr. Welch for visiting BHHS and encouraging students to participate in the performing arts!



Attention all students and parents, Drama Club is selling tickets for a chance to win a basket full of goodies! Tickets will be sold during lunch on October 8th and also during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday and Thursday. All proceeds will be going to the Drama Club.
