Coming through in the clutch! BHHS Scholastic Bowl team got 2nd place overall in the Macoupin County Tournament last night at North Mac. Their semifinal win against Carlinville was a comeback thriller that came down to the final tossup and bonus question, as they won 240-230. A true team effort!!


BHHS students recently visited Lewis & Clark Community College to register during "Early Bird" registration day.

Congratulations to our FFA poultry team who earned 4th place at the section contest this week! Luke Wolff placed 8th overall at the contest!

Bunker Hill High School Drama students have been working very hard for their performance this Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door. You do not want to miss this!


Congrats to Drake Rose! Drake, a BHHS senior, just signed a letter of intent to play semi-pro football for the Central Illinois Cougars!

Representatives from Morton buildings were at BHHS on Thursday, February 15th. They spoke to students about career opportunities offered at Morton. These include: construction, design build, welding, CDL driving, and corporate positions. They plan to come back to BHHS in May to do a hands-on, mock-up build with students. A big thank you to Morton Buildings for taking the time to talk to BHHS students!



Hello Minutemen Basketball Fans! BHHS is hosting a regional game on Monday, February 19th at 7pm. The entry fee is $5, as per IHSA policy.


On Monday, members of the BHHS Student Council traveled to Belleville East High School to attend a leadership conference. At the conference, they voted on new officers for our IASC district and got to meet STUCO members from other schools. Some key leadership topics that were discussed were: taking action, teamwork, diversification of skills, and solving problems. This was a great opportunity for the STUCO members and they can’t wait to see how they will implement these skills in our school!




Have you heard the news about BHHS! For the 2nd year in a row, we are a finalist for the 2024 IHSA Student Section & Spirit Showdown Contest! As a finalist, BHHS is invited to the Girls' Basketball State Finals on Saturday, March 2nd to be recognized. The winning school will also be announced that day. It is a big Saturday for BHHS Basketball. Good luck to the girls as they play their first regional game at Brownstown at 1:00pm today. Tonight the boys play Pleasant Hill with JV starting at 6:00. We also will have our amazing BHHS Pep Band as well as a performance by the Jr. cheer clinic between the JV and varsity games.


BHHS enjoyed a Project-Based Learning Day today! The activities included: building towers/bridges, creating stories through painting, creating Picasso portraits, trivia/jeopardy challenges, engineering activities, and a classroom activity to encourage kindness.
