Congratulations to Olivia Gresham, Bunker Hill High School's DAR Good Citizen Recipient! The faculty of BHHS has chosen you to receive this recognition for the 2022-23 school year.
This program honors an outstanding young person in the senior class who demonstrates qualities of a good citizen which include dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

BHHS students participated today in a presentation involving the Illinois Laborers & Contractors Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program. This an an opportunity for students to enroll in apprenticeship training classes at the SCI Training and Innovation Center in Litchfield. Classes would include Automotive, EMT, Construction, and Welding.



Congrats to our newly inducted and current student members of the National Honor Society! During the ceremony on March 7th, students spoke about the four pillars of membership: Leadership, Service, Scholarship, and Character. The ceremony concluded with some tasty refreshments.

Bunker Hill High School was represented today at the IHSA Girls' Basketball State Finals at ISU in Normal. BHHS was a finalist for the IHSA Student Section and Spirit Showdown. Today, the 8th grade "Project Lead the Way" class learned about brain function and brain anatomy by participating in a brain dissection activity.




The BHHS Junior class will be sponsoring a father/daughter dance on Saturday, March 18th from 6-8pm. Flyers will be handed out at this week at Wolf Ridge.

Mrs. Mac’s 8th grade Spanish students recently enjoyed working together in creating sentences. These types of activities in which students collaborate and share ideas are engaging and help to create a positive classroom culture.



BHHS calculus students are seen here participating in a challenging, collaborative activity. Students are matching functions with first derivatives and second derivatives making note of properties of increasing/decreasing and concavity.


Last week BHHS FFA celebrated National FFA Week. BHHS students celebrated by participating in themed dress up days, a canned food drive, students driving tractors to school and cooking lunch for staff. FFA Students also attended the Section poultry contest and placed 5th as a team. Logan Helling placed 9th overall in the varsity division.



In Art I and Art II, students used charcoal to depict a subject of their choosing with the Principle of Design “Emphasis” in mind. Most of them had never used charcoal prior to this project, and we are very proud with how these turned out!




What an outstanding performance by our BHHS Drama Club tonight! The drama students and Mrs. Eschbach are seen here exchanging gifts at the conclusion of the play. Thank you to the school community for supporting our fine arts!


The graduation picture project is finished! Nearly every day, students gather to take pictures and have conversations about their family and friends who have graduated from BHHS. This has been a rewarding and worthwhile project!


BHHS chemistry classes explored freezing-point depression today by making their own homemade ice cream in a bag. As you can see, students also enjoyed a tasty treat!

Congrats to our Minutemen for winning the 1st game of the boys' basketball regional tonight! Our next game is on Wednesday, February 22nd, vs. Raymond (Lincolnwood) at Lincolnwood.

Today in Sophomore English, students enjoyed having Young Adult author, Jan Jacobi, come in to speak about his book, "Young Lincoln." He read sections of his book and the students were able to ask well-developed questions about Abraham Lincoln and about the process of book publishing.



The boys varsity team will get 1 more home game this year! The first game of the regional will be played in Bunker Hill on Saturday February 18th at 7:00pm vs Carrollton. Come cheer them on!
