The freshman class decorated the cubby hole section of the hallway this year. They had used some streamers to make their hallway standout!
Sophomores decorated the hallway by the bathrooms. The purple lighting was a great touch!
Our Juniors had the end of the hall to decorate, they really had the purple theme going!

Our homecoming pep rally turned out great yesterday! All students participated in dancing at the end of the pep rally.
Today starts off our homecoming week. Our dress up theme was soccer mom or barbeque dad. Our students did a great job dressing up!

FAFSA Night had a great turnout! The purpose of FAFSA Night was to prepare you and your student on how to fill out the FAFSA and why you are filling it out. Remember the FAFSA is a graduation requirement for seniors. There is an opt out form for any graduating senior who does not need to fill out the FAFSA; for example, going into military or going into the workforce.
Tonight, BHHS hosted parent-teacher conferences and exhibition night. Several clubs and activties showcased their projects. Those in attendance had a great time!

Tuesday night we honored our 2 seniors on the tennis team. Good luck to the tennis team as they finish their last 2 weeks of regular season before sectionals!
A group of BHHS students recently visited the University of Illinois in Springfield to participate as "nurses for a day." Students participated in several hands-on activities, toured the campus, and collaborated with several professionals in the field and student nurses. When arriving back to the BHHS campus, students were very excited to share their experiences with faculty and students. Students represented BHHS very well during this experience!
Today, Mr. Marshall's Driver's Education classes welcomed Trooper Rodger Goines from the Illinois State Police. Trooper Goines discussed traffic safety, distracted driving, seatbelt safety among many other important topics with BHHS students. He also discussed internet safety with Mrs. Strohmeier's 8th grade students.

BHHS welcomed the Bricklayers (Local 8) of Illinois for a demonstration and hands-on activity today. BHHS students also learned that Local 8 provides apprenticeship opportunites while students are still in high school.
Our football team finished out our Start With Hello Week today. This was a great way to start our Friday!
Start With Hello Week on Thursday was with the volleyball team. They were very enthusiastic!
Congrats to Roland Thyer! Roland was given a board salute at last night's school board meeting as a "National Rural and Small Town Award" winner. He earned this honor due to his high GPA and outstanding performance on the PSAT, SAT, and Advanced Placement exams.
