"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it." -- Chinese Proverb
As we conclude this week and prepare for the return of our 6th-8th middle school students full-time next week, I would like to share with you how our students continue to do an excellent job with wearing their masks and following all of the safety protocols. I am happy to report this week that we have had no new cases of COVID-19 reported to Bunker Hill CUSD 8 by the Macoupin County Public Health Department.
I want to continue to thank and praise our students for the awesome job they are doing following the safety protocols. Following safety protocols both inside and outside of school makes all the difference in our ability to continue in-person learning at Bunker Hill. We love having our students in the building and want to continue in-person learning as long as possible.
As more students return to school on a full-time basis, the schedule will look more normal, which is a good thing. However, it is not a complete return to normal and our social distancing, mask-wearing and frequent hand-washing will remain a part of our routine protocols for the foreseeable future.
It was truly heartwarming to see our classrooms “full” again this week, and am truly grateful for the way in which this community has pulled together to support, encourage and sacrifice together in order to make this phased-in Roadmap to Restart a reality.
